Following the controversy surrounding Jeremy Clarkson, the popular car show Top Gear has officially ended. Surprisingly, the show’s two co-presenters, James May and Richard Hammond, have decided to auction off their motorcycle collections on April 26th.
It is unclear why May and Hammond have decided to sell their motorcycle collections. It could be a financial decision or simply a way to make space for new models. Given their passion for motorcycles, it is likely the latter. Many collectors refresh their collections by selling off some of their items.
Contrary to expectations, May and Hammond are not selling their expensive motorcycles. Instead, they are parting ways with their ordinary and reasonably-priced ones, while keeping the rare and valuable ones.
One of the most notable motorcycles being auctioned by Richard Hammond is the 2010 Norton Commando 961SE. It is expected to sell for £14,500 – £18,500 ($21,600 – $27,500). Other noteworthy motorcycles include the 1970 Triton café racer 500cc and the 1977 Honda GL1000 Gold Wing.

James May, on the other hand, will bid farewell to his Yamaha FS-1E, Grievious Angel, Yamaha SR400 modified by Deux Ex Machina, and the 1973 Honda CD175.
In addition, there are many other notable motorcycles from May and Hammond waiting to be auctioned at the Spring Stafford Sale.
