Last October, Chinese media reported that patent images of BYD’s pickup truck model had been leaked. Recently, a collection of disguised spy photos of BYD’s pickup truck was found online, giving us a sneak peek at its basic exterior design.

These images show that BYD’s new pickup truck, although not very large, features a four-door design and can seat five people. It exudes a confident and powerful aesthetic. Previous reports suggested that the prototype of this pickup truck is currently undergoing testing, with the hybrid version expected to debut in 2024 and the fully electric variant set to launch in 2025.

In terms of exterior styling, the front of the new vehicle has a square and rugged design, similar to the patent images and conceptual illustrations seen before. The front headlights incorporate vertically arranged dual LED clusters, surrounded by seamless C-shaped LED daytime running lights, reminiscent of the headlights on the Ford F-150.

The vertically arranged taillights and extended rear window contribute to a clean appearance, positioning this new vehicle in the mid to high-end segment of the pickup truck market.

As for the interior, BYD’s pickup truck still maintains the characteristic center control layout of this Chinese automaker, highlighted by a spacious central display screen, complemented by a digital instrument cluster.

It is predicted that the area behind the instrument panel will incorporate a Head-Up Display (HUD) function. In addition, behind the central display screen, there is also an H-shaped module, although its specific function has not yet been revealed.

As for the drivetrain options, the BYD pickup truck is expected to offer both plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions. Previous reports have hinted at potential features, including hydraulic active suspension, rearview mirror streaming, and Huawei’s AR-HUD technology.
