The Geely Galaxy E8 is a new electric sedan developed by Geely as part of their Galaxy brand. This model follows the previous releases of the L7 SUV and L6 sedan, which are both hybrid electric vehicles.
The Galaxy brand was launched by Geely last year and aims to offer mid-range and high-end electric vehicles. The company plans to release a total of 7 models under the Galaxy brand by 2025. The latest addition to the lineup is the all-electric E8 sedan, which has recently been unveiled in its home country.
Geely has announced that the Galaxy E8 will be available in 5 different versions, with prices ranging from 175,800 to 228,800 Chinese Yuan Renminbi (~573 to 746 million Vietnamese Dong).
The Geely Galaxy E8 is built on the SEA platform, which is also used in other Geely electric models like the Zeekr, Smart, Volvo, and Lotus. The car has dimensions of 5,010 x 1,920 x 1,465 (mm) for length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,925 mm.
Design-wise, the Geely Galaxy E8 incorporates elements from the Galaxy Light concept. This can be seen in the sleek headlights, low waistline, and long hood, giving the car a modern and stylish appearance.
From the side, the Geely Galaxy E8 features a beautifully designed roofline and retractable door handles. According to local news sources, the E8 has a drag coefficient of 0.199 Cd, making it one of the most aerodynamic cars on the market, second only to the Xiaomi SU7.
Geely has focused on ensuring the safety of the Galaxy E8, meeting the requirements of the IATF standard. The car has a hardened A-pillar with a hardness of 1500 MPa and has been tested by CATARC experts to meet the safety requirements of NESTA (NEV Electrical Safety Verification).
Inside the cabin, the Geely Galaxy E8 offers a modern and tech-filled space. The highlight is the 8K OLED screen measuring 45 inches with a thickness of only 10 mm. This screen can be connected to a Meizu phone via the Flyme Connect system, allowing users to enjoy games on the large screen.
The car is also equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor. This year, the Galaxy Intelligence Driving 2.0 system and the Urban NOA function will be activated.
Other notable features inside the Geely Galaxy E8 include the AR-HUD screen, an audio system with 12 Infinity speakers, a wireless charging system, a contoured steering wheel, and a hidden drawer. The car also comes with ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof as standard.
The Geely Galaxy E8 has a luggage compartment capacity of 420 liters and a front trunk capacity of 53 liters.
The car is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. The rear-wheel drive model operates on a 400V architecture, with a maximum motor power of 268 horsepower (200 kW) and a maximum torque of 343 Nm.
