Specifically, the Wuling Starlight has sold a total of 18,294 units within its first month of launch, which is a commendable success. It is worth noting that 70% of these sales come from consumers aged 18 to 35, indicating the strong appeal of the Wuling Starlight among young Chinese individuals.
The Wuling Starlight plug-in hybrid sedan currently offers 2 models for consumers to choose from, with prices ranging from CNY 88,800 to CNY 105,800 (USD 12,400 – USD 14,800), or VND 288 million to VND 347 million. The pure electric version is expected to be launched in the first half of 2024.
The Wuling Starlight is positioned as a mid-size sedan with dimensions of 4835/1860/1515 mm and a wheelbase of 2800 mm. Its fastback shape, 18-inch star-shaped wheels, and semi-hidden door handles create a sporty atmosphere, while the windows are surrounded by chrome trim to add a touch of elegance.
Regarding the interior, the cabin of the Wuling Starlight is equipped with a two-spoke flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch center control screen. The car’s operating system comes from Ling OS and supports various features such as navigation, remote control, OTA updates, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Moreover, the front seats can be folded back 180° and connected to the rear seats to form a flat bed. The standard trunk volume is 540 liters, and there is also a 33-liter under-seat storage compartment. However, it’s worth noting that the Wuling Starlight does not come with a panoramic sunroof.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain of the Wuling Starlight consists of a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor, combined with DHT. The engine generates 78 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque, while the motor produces 130 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.
With two available battery pack options of 9.5 kWh and 20.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate, the Wuling Starlight offers corresponding all-electric ranges of 70 km and 150 km, and a comprehensive range of 1,100 km.
