Recently, a black Porsche 911 Carrera S sports car with the unique license plate number 82A-123.45 has captured the attention of car enthusiasts on social media in Saigon. The reason behind this is that the license plate is a rare auction plate from a province in the Central Highlands, and a wealthy individual residing in Ho Chi Minh City has been actively seeking it.
Further investigation reveals that the driver of the Porsche 911 Carrera S is none other than Minh “Brother Xí,” the founder of various supercar clubs and JDM car communities in Vietnam. The license plate 82A-123.45 was successfully won at an auction on September 21st for a staggering amount of 270 million VND.
As a result, the esteemed 12345 license plate from Kon Tum province has now found its new home on a Porsche 911 Carrera S sports car. Currently, the officially distributed Porsche 911 Carrera S comes with a starting price of 8.53 billion VND, excluding additional options and on-the-road costs.
Minh “Brother X픑s Porsche 911 Carrera S is equipped with a powerful 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged 6-cylinder engine, capable of producing a maximum power output of 385 horsepower. This represents a 15-horsepower increase compared to the previous generation. The latest generation of the Porsche 911 Carrera S boasts an impressive acceleration time of just 3.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and achieves a top speed of 308 km/h.
The Porsche 911 Carrera S 992 is offered with a standard 7-speed manual transmission, while customers also have the option to choose an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. One notable feature in the eighth-generation Porsche 911 is the introduction of a new driving mode called “Wet Mode.” This advanced feature detects wet road conditions through sensors fitted in the wheels, allowing the stability control system to adapt accordingly.
Auctioning car license plates isn’t just about making money.
On the afternoon of October 11th, following discussions, the National Assembly Standing Committee reached an agreement to submit a Draft Resolution on piloting the granting of the right to choose automobile license plates through auctions to the National Assembly, with the aim of granting more authority to the Government.
