With a full 55-liter fuel tank and a fully charged battery, the 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV can travel up to a maximum of 1,200 km.

Toyota recently launched the 2024 Crown Sport PHEV in Japan, offering only one variant, the RS, at a price of up to 7.65 million yen (~1.3 billion VND).

The 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV is a mid-size SUV with dimensions of 4,710 x 1,880 x 1,560 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,770 mm.

The design of the 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV is reminiscent of the Ferrari Purosangue, with its “C”-shaped headlights embracing the front of the car. Between the two headlights of the Toyota Crown Sport, there is a small air intake, similar to the Ferrari Purosangue. The difference from the Italian supercar is the large central air vent with a fox-eye grille and two vertical fake air vents.

The 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV comes with 21-inch wheels and 235/45 tires. The independent rear suspension with rear-wheel steering – Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) provides agility at low speeds and stability at high speeds.

At the rear, the Toyota Crown Sport leaves an impression with its continuous taillights connected by a glossy black strip that spans across the width of the car. The interior of the taillight cluster resembles the Mercedes-Benz GLB and Toyota GR Supra. In addition, the car also has raised “Crown” lettering on the trunk, long vertical air vents on both corners of the rear, and a black rear bumper diffuser.

The highlight of the 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV lies in its powertrain, which offers both performance and fuel efficiency. Specifically, the Crown Sport PHEV 2024 is powered by a straight-four naturally aspirated 2.5L gasoline engine, combined with a 5NM front electric motor and a 4NM rear electric motor.

This plug-in hybrid powertrain delivers a total output of 302 horsepower with all-wheel drive.

The 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV uses a 51 Ah lithium-ion battery, providing a pure electric operating range of up to 90 km. Thanks to this, the car consumes an average of 20.3 km/liter of petrol (about 4.9 liters/100 km). With a full 55-liter fuel tank and a fully charged battery, the 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV can travel up to a maximum of 1,200 km.

The 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV can also charge external devices with a 1.5 kW charging power. In case of emergency, users can use the car’s V2H system to provide electricity to their homes. After fully charging the battery and filling up the fuel tank, the 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV can provide electricity to a home for up to 6.5 days, based on an average electricity consumption of 10 kWh.

In terms of the interior, the cabin of the 2024 Toyota Crown Sport PHEV has a configuration of 5 seats. The car is equipped with black and red leather upholstery, a detail not found in the Crown Sport HEV.

Some prominent interior features of this mid-size SUV include a digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is seamlessly integrated. In addition, the car also has a three-spoke steering wheel with integrated function buttons, a small screen accompanying the automatic air conditioning, an electronic gear lever, an electronic parking brake, wireless phone charging, temporary brake hold, and memory seats.

Being a sports variant, the car also has a personalized and modern interior, such as sports seats designed to embrace the driver’s body. The seats have heating and memory functions. The driver’s seat is 8-way power-adjustable, while the front passenger seat is 4-way power-adjustable.

Behind the second-row seats is a spacious luggage compartment, providing ample storage space for users during each trip.

In terms of safety equipment, the car features many driving assistance functions such as pre-collision warning, emergency steering assist, “headlight flash” warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, active lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning, door opening collision warning, rear-approaching vehicle warning, rear collision brake, remote parking assist, and a 360-degree camera (showing the area below the hood as well)…

Toyota plans to produce about 300 Crown Sport PHEV units per month, which will extend the delivery time.
