BMW recently launched an upgraded version of its flagship SAV model, the X7, in the US market. The X7 models distributed in Vietnam are also imported from the US. To give you an inside look at the production process of the X7, here is a video:
Video: FRAME
Similar to other car models, the production of the X7 starts with manufacturing the vehicle frame. The X7 is developed on the Cluster Architecture platform, which is also used in models like the BMW X5 and Toyota Supra.
Once the frame is ready, the next step involves immersing the entire body shell into a primer paint tank to ensure an even paint color. BMW’s factory uses robotic arms to spray the exterior color based on customers’ preferences. The X7 offers a wide range of color options, allowing users to personalize their vehicles.
While modern equipment is used throughout the production process, human labor is still involved in certain aspects to ensure quality. The result is a perfect blend of automation and craftsmanship.
Regarding the engine options, despite rumors of the V8 engine being discontinued, the US version of the X7 is still equipped with an 8-cylinder engine, specifically the BMW TwinPower 4.4L turbocharged engine. Additionally, the factory installs the BMW TwinPower 6-cylinder inline engine, which has a displacement of 3.0L and features 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.
In the Vietnamese market, the BMW X7 is available in two versions: the BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence and BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport. The prices for these versions are as follows:
– BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport: 6,299,000,000 VND
– BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence: 7,399,000,000 VND
