In 2023, Volkswagen models have been continuously discounted by several million dong to stimulate purchases. In the first month of 2024, which also coincides with the month of Lunar New Year, Volkswagen dealers continue to maintain this incentive program.
Accordingly, the two most heavily discounted Volkswagen models currently at dealerships are still the Teramont and Touareg pair, with cash discounts of up to 400 million dong. This discount helps reduce the price of the Volkswagen Teramont to 2.099 billion dong. Meanwhile, the post-discount price of the Volkswagen Touareg Luxury version is only 3.099 billion dong. With the Volkswagen Touareg Elegance version, the post-discount price is 2.699 billion dong, equivalent to a reduction of 300 million dong.
The upgraded Volkswagen Tiguan has a discount of 300 million dong, reducing the price to 1.699 billion dong. Meanwhile, the Volkswagen Tiguan Luxury S is discounted by 330 million dong, with a post-discount price of 1.599 billion dong.
Not only that, Volkswagen dealers also have promotions for two smaller models, the T-Cross and Virtus. Specifically, the most expensive B-segment sedan in Vietnam, the Volkswagen Virtus, is discounted by 250 million dong for the standard Elegance version and 170 million dong for the Luxury version. The post-discount prices of these two versions are 699 million dong and 899 million dong, respectively.
For the most expensive B-segment SUV in Vietnam, the Volkswagen T-Cross, the discount will be 300 million dong for the Luxury version and 220 million dong for the Elegance version. As a result, the Luxury version of the car has a price of only 999 million dong, while the corresponding figure for the Elegance version is 879 million dong.

Discounted price table for Volkswagen models in January 2024 (in Vietnamese dong)
As for the newly introduced Volkswagen Viloran in the Vietnamese market in December 2023, there is no promotion. Positioned in the large MPV segment, the Volkswagen Viloran in Vietnam has 2 versions with prices ranging from 1,989 to 2,188 billion dong, much higher than its competitor, the Kia Carnival.
Newly introduced Volkswagen Viloran in Vietnam
With discounts ranging from 300 – 400 million dong, Volkswagen is one of the brands with the highest discounts in the Vietnamese market today. In addition to Volkswagen, there are also some other models that are being discounted by hundreds of million dong, such as the Subaru quartet, including the Forester (170 – 250 million dong), BRZ (410 million dong), Outback (312 million dong), and WRX (307 million dong).
Although heavily discounted, Volkswagen models in general still have higher prices than their competitors. For example, the Volkswagen Teramont has a higher price than the Hyundai Palisade, while the Virtus is more expensive than the Hyundai Accent, Toyota Vios, and Honda City. With the Volkswagen T-Cross, the price of 999 million dong is not only higher than B-segment SUV models like the Kia Seltos, Toyota Yaris Cross, and Honda HR-V, but also comparable to C-segment SUVs like the Mazda CX-5 or Hyundai Tucson.
Pricing has never been the strong point of Volkswagen models in Vietnam. This is why dealerships often have to run promotions to attract customers.
In 2024, Volkswagen is expected to introduce another new model in Vietnam, the Teramont X. Similar to the Viloran, the Teramont X is also a product of the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture and is imported entirely from China to Vietnam. Currently, sales consultants at dealerships have started accepting bookings for the Volkswagen Teramont and promise to deliver the cars before Lunar New Year with a quantity of only 10 cars. Although not officially launched yet, the Volkswagen Teramont X has already been priced at 2.168 billion dong in Vietnam.
