Zeekr 007 has an impressive range of up to 870 km when fully charged. Not only that, this Chinese electric sedan also features extremely advanced smart driving assistance technology and the world’s fastest charging LFP battery pack.
On December 23, the first batch of Zeekr 007 cars officially rolled off the production line in China. Prior to that, this pure electric sedan was introduced at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November this year, with a starting price of 229,900 Chinese yuan (USD 31,800). Zeekr 007 will be officially launched on December 27 with two versions: Standard (with a range of 688 km) and Ultra Long Range (with a range of 870 km). The company has announced that the cars will start to be delivered to customers on January 1, 2024.
Zeekr 007 belongs to the mid-size pure electric sedan segment, with dimensions of 4,865 mm (or 4,880) length x 1,900 mm width x 1,450 mm height and a wheelbase of 2,928 mm. The exterior design of the Zeekr 007 is developed based on the brand’s new minimalist Hidden Energy design language, with six exterior colors including brown, sky blue, silver, gray, white, and black.
The car is equipped with an advanced driving assistance system, supported by lidar sensors, 12 high-resolution cameras, 5 mm-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and the NVIDIA Orin X chip.
In terms of performance, the Zeekr 007 comes with an option of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. With the rear-wheel drive version, the car is equipped with a 310 kW Silicon Carbide (SiC) electric motor and takes 5.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
With the all-wheel drive version, the car is equipped with two electric motors at the front and rear, with power outputs of 165 kW and 310 kW respectively, and the fastest 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 2.84 seconds.
Providing power to the Zeekr 007 is the Golden Battery pack developed in-house by the company. According to Zeekr, this new type of battery has remarkable durability and weather resistance. To prove its point, the company conducted a test by heating the battery pack weighing 710 kg to a temperature of 1,000 degrees Celsius and immersing it in saltwater for 48 hours, and then freezing it at a temperature of -45 degrees Celsius for 8 hours. After this rigorous test, the electric vehicle battery still functioned normally and was extremely safe.
Zeekr claims that its Golden Battery is the world’s fastest-charging lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, taking only 15 minutes to charge and extending the driving range by 500 km.
Inside, the Zeekr 007 features a 15-inch OLED center display with an integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 smart chip, an LCD instrument panel, a 35.5-inch AR-HUD, and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. In addition, the car is equipped with a Dolby Atmos 21-speaker sound system, interior ambient lighting, wireless charging, and a center armrest storage compartment.
According to Zeekr, the interior of this electric sedan is made from low-carbon and environmentally friendly recycled materials, including 100% recyclable fabric and water-based PU leather. Meanwhile, the seats are upholstered in premium Nappa leather.
Recently, Zeekr has unveiled a series of new car models, including Zeekr 001, Zeekr 009, and Zeekr 007. In addition, the premium electric car brand under the Geely group has announced plans to install an additional 1,000 charging stations next year and aims to have 10,000 charging stations by 2026. Currently, Zeekr has 401 fast charging stations with 2,261 charging ports in China.
