Despite being over 40 years old, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu’s Nissan Datsun 280ZX has a very new appearance thanks to careful care and maintenance.

Not only passionate about modern sports cars like the Porsche 911 Turbo 992, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, or Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu – Chairman of Trung Nguyen Coffee Group also has a strong affinity for vintage cars that are several decades old. Recently, Mr. Vu has added a Nissan Datsun 280ZX over 40 years old to his collection.

Nissan Datsun 280ZX is the second generation of the Nissan Z sports car line, produced from 1978 to 1983. Providing power for the 280ZX is a 2.8L inline-six engine with a turbocharged output of 180 horsepower. Coupled with this engine is a 5-speed manual transmission, allowing this sports car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 7 seconds. In the 1980s, this engine block was considered a pride of the Japanese automotive industry.

Nissan Datsun 280ZX features a 3-door fastback design, inherited from its predecessor, the 280Z. The 280ZX design has many special features, such as round headlights set deep in the headlight cavity and side mirrors positioned at the front of the car instead of near the A-pillar as usual. Most of the details on Mr. “Vietnamese coffee king”‘s 280ZX are original, except for the front grille, which has been redesigned with a hexagonal honeycomb pattern. In addition, like all of Mr. Vu’s other cars, this vintage Nissan also carries the distinctive UN numbered license plate.

Compared to the first-generation Nissan Z, the 280ZX focuses less on driving feel and more on driver comfort. The car has softer suspension, better sound insulation, more comfortable seating, and is well-equipped with a premium sound system. Overall, despite its sporty design, the 280ZX has more of a grand tourer feel rather than a true sports car.
