Porsche has plans to allow Apple to take over the entire entertainment system in the near future, and this collaboration has enhanced the functionality for iPhone users. The German car manufacturer recently announced that the My Porsche app has undergone significant updates “with the aim of optimizing operations and achieving deeper integration within the customers’ digital ecosystem.”

The new features will be integrated into Apple CarPlay, allowing users to perform actions such as changing the radio, adjusting the temperature inside the car, and controlling the ambient lighting directly from their phone screen.

And Porsche owners not only can use their phones to check their cars. The My Porsche app for Apple Watch will allow owners to retrieve information about their vehicles, such as cabin temperature, whether the doors are locked or not, and various other information directly from their wrists.

Porsche app users will also have access to their performance dashboards from CarPlay, where real-time performance data is displayed. This includes the driver’s maximum speed, G-forces they have achieved, driving efficiency, average speed, distance, etc.

In addition, Porsche is adding Siri to 400,000 vehicles on the road. Drivers will be able to control more functions using Apple’s voice assistant and can activate this feature from a button on the steering wheel with this update (provided they have PCM 6.0 or higher).

The updates to the My Porsche app also bring a cleaner and more user-friendly interface. With additional quick functions, owners can easily perform their favorite tasks.

One notable integration is with Apple CarPlay, allowing electric vehicle drivers to plan routes and charging stops from their phones before starting their journeys. This deeper integration ensures that the app takes into account the charging status of the vehicle, allowing the app to plan charging stops ahead of time.
