Recently, there has been information on social media that BYD is preparing to officially distribute cars in the Vietnamese market, with the first dealership opening on Giải Phóng Street (Hanoi) on May 1. After that, the company will continue to expand its system with 2 more dealerships in Hanoi.
This information has not been confirmed by BYD. However, in recent times, this Chinese carmaker has shown a clear interest in the Vietnamese market. In the middle of 2023, BYD’s official website in Vietnam even posted a picture of the Atto 3 model with the status “We are coming”.
Therefore, Atto 3 is likely to be the first model to be sold in Vietnam. This is an electric crossover in the C segment, competing with VinFast VF 7. The BYD Atto 3 is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 201 horsepower and a torque of 310 Nm, combined with a front-wheel drive system. The car has two battery options: 49.92 kWh or 60.48 kWh, providing a maximum range of 410 km and 480 km respectively after each full charge. In Thailand, the car comes in 2 versions, with prices of 1.1 and 1.2 million baht, equivalent to 740 and 810 million VND.
After Atto 3, BYD plans to sell 2 more BYD models in Vietnam, including the D-sized electric sedan BYD Han EV in the D-sized electric sedan segment and the mid-size SUV BYD Tang.
