The Great Wall Motors Group is preparing to launch a new electric vehicle brand and has revealed its first model, a long-wheelbase luxury sedan. The new brand, temporarily named ZX, will compete in the luxury car segment in the Chinese market. A sole sketch of this elegant sedan has just been unveiled and it bears some resemblance to the Hongqi H9, but larger in size.
At the rear of Great Wall’s new premium electric vehicle, there are large LED taillights similar to the H9, extending downwards. The alloy wheels could be either 22 or 23 inches. This is still a sketch, so the production version may differ slightly. The body of the car features chrome accents along the doors from behind the front wheels. Additional chrome details are found on the window trim, side mirrors, and the narrow headlights at the front.
There is very little other information about this model, but it is said to be 5.5 meters long, making it significantly longer than the 5.1-meter H9. In fact, it’s even longer than the BMW i7 and Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and is expected to offer a spacious interior. Interestingly, the described car has a very long hood, which seems like an unusual design choice if the car is indeed only sold as an electric vehicle.
Great Wall Motors is expected to unveil the new vehicle as a discreetly covered concept at the Beijing Auto Show in April, before the production model is launched in the fourth quarter.
