According to statistics, Toyota Vietnam sold 2,639 hybrid cars in 2023, accounting for nearly 12% of the total sales of models with this version.
Overall, the hybrid car market in Vietnam reached 3,000 cars in 2023. In the electric car segment, VinFast dominated the market with an estimated sales figure of about 32,000 cars in Vietnam.
These sales figures reflect the booming automobile market in Vietnam, where the country has a substantial number of hybrid and electric cars compared to other countries in the region.
In Thailand, electric cars accounted for 12% of the market in 2023. The Thai government has implemented various measures to encourage vehicle manufacturers and citizens to purchase electric cars.
In Malaysia, hybrid cars accounted for 2% of the total market sales, with 28,055 hybrid cars and 10,159 electric cars being sold to consumers.
In Vietnam, although support for electric cars is limited to exemptions from registration fees and a 3% reduction in special consumption tax, the sales of hybrid and electric cars continue to grow and hold a special place in the hearts of consumers.
