Ford has recently launched a unique stimulus program to boost sales.
Under this program, anyone who owns a Jeep no older than 1995 will receive a cash incentive when purchasing the Bronco SUV in the United States.
Specifically, customers who purchase the 2024 Bronco and Bronco Sport in certain areas such as Chicago, Phoenix, and New York will receive a $1,000 (24.4 million VND) incentive. Customers who purchase the Raptor edition of the Bronco will not be eligible for this incentive.
Customers living in the Atlanta and Dallas areas will also receive the incentive, but at a lower rate of $500 (12.2 million VND).
Importantly, Ford does not require Jeep owners to sell their cars in order to buy a Bronco. Furthermore, the Jeep does not need to be registered under the owner’s name. If another person in the buyer’s household lives at the same address and owns a Jeep, it will also be accepted.
This is a very interesting stimulus program, not only because of its terms, but also because Ford has rarely offered discounts on cars in the United States recently. Offering incentives to Jeep owners shows Ford’s “goodwill”, as this is not a typical “trade-in” program. Instead, the company seems to want customers to purchase additional cars to enrich their garage.
However, the actual sale price of the Bronco is a barrier that makes it difficult for customers to afford the car.
In 2021, the starting price for the Bronco was below $30,000 (732.4 million VND), but now the price has increased to $39,130 (955.3 billion VND) for the Big Bend variant. Meanwhile, the Ford Bronco Raptor edition is priced at $90,035 (2.19 billion VND) in the US market.
