On December 22, 2023, the license plate 11A-111.11, belonging to Cao Bằng province, was put up for auction by the Vietnam joint stock company. After 30 minutes of bidding, the super rare plate 1 was sold to the highest bidder, a billionaire, for a staggering amount of 8.78 billion Vietnamese dong.

Subsequently, the auction winner completed the financial procedures by paying an additional 8.74 billion dong, with a deposit of 40 million dong deducted from the total amount.

Until now, the super rare plate 11A-111.11 has only been seen on the road once its owner completed the registration process for this VIP plate. The sight of a car with the plate number 11A-111.11 will surely shock many people.

Many would have expected a luxury car, a supercar, or an expensive SUV to be registered with the auction-winning plate number and valued at nearly 9 billion dong. However, it turned out to be a Honda CR-V, with the highest version priced at only 1.26 billion dong before deducting promotions.

Compared to the current selling price of Honda CR-V by authorized dealers, which is just over 1 billion dong, the plate number 11A-111.11 is 8 times the value of the car. Therefore, there is no doubt that this Honda CR-V is the most expensive on-road price in Vietnam, surpassing even the price of Lexus LX600.

The Honda CR-V belongs to the compact SUV segment and is highly regarded for its driving experience and safety features. The car is equipped with a 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, DOHC, with a displacement of 1.5L, generating a maximum power of 188 horsepower and a peak torque of 240 Nm, combined with a CVT continuously variable transmission.

Not inferior to its competitors, this Honda model also features active safety systems like the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive High Beam (AHB) headlights, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with low-speed follow, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
