Honda has just announced details about the maximum range of its first all-electric SUV model, the Prologue, which will achieve a best-in-segment range of 476 km (based on EPA evaluation). The starting price for the 2024 Honda Prologue EV is $48,795 (including a $1,395 delivery fee).
In fact, the Prologue EX base model has the widest operating range in the product line. This is achieved thanks to the front-wheel drive system, an electric motor with a maximum output of 212 horsepower and a peak torque of 320 Nm.
The Prologue EX is also equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, integrated with Google apps, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless phone charging, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The all-wheel drive system, which features a dual electric motor, adds more horsepower but sacrifices the operating range. Specifically, this drivetrain delivers a maximum output of 288 horsepower and a peak torque of 451 Nm. Available on both the EX and Touring models, it will add an additional $3,000 to the price of the Prologue with an impressive range of 452 km.
The range-topping Elite version is only available with the AWD dual electric motor drivetrain, with a operating range of 439 km and a starting price of $59,295.
Compared to the Chevrolet Blazer EV, which shares many similarities, the 2024 Honda Prologue EV is much cheaper with a starting price of $48,795, while the Blazer EV starts at $56,715.
Honda has announced that the Prologue 2024 will be available at its dealerships in the US this spring.
