Kia India is gearing up to launch a brand new SUV in 2024. Codenamed AY internally, the new model could be called the Clavis when it debuts.

The first spy shots of this new SUV were leaked online a few days ago. At that time, the photographers could only capture the exterior of the car. Now, we have additional interior shots of this model, which have been posted on the Shorts Car channel, revealing some interesting new features.

From the photos, we can see the vertically placed LED headlights, a design choice that not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the SUV but also improves the lighting capabilities on the road.

Another interesting feature is the flush-mounted door handles, giving the Clavis a modern and sleek appearance. The presence of 17-inch alloy wheels adds a touch of sophistication to the overall exterior of the car.

At the rear, the car is equipped with vertically placed LED taillights. The Clavis SUV is equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels, enhancing braking efficiency and giving the driver a sense of control and confidence on the road.

One of the standout revelations from the spy images is that the car is equipped with an advanced ADAS Level 2 driver assistance system. This indicates that the Clavis SUV will be equipped with advanced safety features, providing a higher level of autonomous driving capability. In addition, the car also has a panoramic sunroof, providing a luxurious and airy feeling.

The Kia Clavis will be equipped with ventilated seats in the front and rear, ensuring comfort and convenience for all occupants. The inclusion of a 360-degree camera and 12 parking sensors (6 sensors on each side) further enhances the maneuverability of the SUV and makes parking easier in various situations.

The Clavis SUV is expected to be equipped with both internal combustion and electric powertrains. Although specific details about the electric variants have not been disclosed, it is highly likely that the range will be between 350 km and 400 km.

For the internal combustion engine versions, the car is likely to receive a turbocharged 1.0L petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 172 Nm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Similar to the Sonet, the Clavis will use a front-wheel drive configuration.

With the increasing demand for small and compact SUVs in many markets around the world, it is highly likely that Kia’s new model will also be offered in emerging markets outside of India.
