This news coincides with Kia’s announcement of its entry into the Thai market. On its Instagram page, Kia Asia Pacific wrote: “The Kia Group officially enters Thailand, bringing Kia’s famous models closer to Thai consumers. Highlights include the addition of 10 new dealerships, improved after-sales service with a 7-year warranty for each new model, and the introduction of the most advanced fully electric models.”

Of course, Kia Thailand Co., Ltd will now oversee the sales and marketing of the brand’s models in Thailand, taking over the previous local distributor’s sales model.

Returning to the EV9, this is a 3-row SUV built on Kia’s Electric Global Module Platform (E-GMP). With a large wheelbase and a completely flat EV architecture (800 volts), the Kia EV9 provides users with a spacious and comfortable interior in every seating position.

The 3-row SUV is available in 6 and 7-seat configurations, including a second-row seat that can swivel 180 degrees towards the third-row passengers. Passengers in the first and second rows can also recline their seats simultaneously for rest and relaxation while the electric SUV is charging.

The Kia EV9 is equipped with a 76.1 kWh lithium-ion battery (Standard) or a 99.8 kWh lithium-ion battery (Long Range), providing a range of up to 541 km according to WLTP standards.

There are 3 drivetrain variants of the EV9 announced at launch, two rear-wheel drive (RWD) variants (with standard and long-range batteries) and a single all-wheel drive (AWD) variant. The most powerful variant uses an AWD dual-motor drivetrain with a combined output of 380 PS and 600 Nm of torque, or up to 700 Nm with the optional Power Boost feature.

In South Korea, the Kia EV9 starts at 77.28 million Won (equivalent to 58,250 USD).
