Shortly after the introduction of the Swift Concept model at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, Suzuki unveiled the production version of this small hatchback before officially launching it in the Japanese market. The Suzuki Swift has undergone interior and exterior upgrades, along with the addition of a new mild-hybrid powertrain.

As anticipated, the new Swift closely resembles the concept version. The alloy wheels, exterior and interior details, and colors are all identical to the prototype exhibited in Tokyo a few weeks ago.

The car features square LED headlights, a fish-inspired grille, and embossed lines on the sides. One notable difference from the previous generation is the return of more traditional door handles.

Meanwhile, the electrified versions can be distinguished by chrome trim on the grille and a hybrid emblem on the front fender. The exterior color palette includes 9 options, with 4 two-tone choices.

In terms of dimensions, the 2024 Suzuki Swift is nearly the same size as the previous generation. It has a length, width, and height of 3,860 x 1,695 x 1,500 (mm) respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,450 mm.

Inside, the dashboard has been redesigned and now features a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Instead of a digital instrument cluster, there is a small screen placed between two analog gauges, similar to the design of the previous generation.

Other notable features include new air conditioning control buttons, similar to those found in other Suzuki models, and multiple USB charging ports. Additionally, the 2024 Suzuki Swift now comes equipped with an electronic parking brake and the Auto-hold feature.

In terms of safety, the new generation Suzuki Swift 2024 is equipped with millimeter-wave radar, a single-eye camera, and ultrasonic sensors, which enhance the effectiveness of the ADAS system. The ADAS package includes the Dual Sensor Brake Support II system that improves the detection of cars, bicycles, motorcycles, and pedestrians.

The car is also equipped with a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring system, and rear cross-traffic alert.

In Japan, the 2024 Suzuki Swift is available in three versions: XG, Hybrid MX, and Hybrid MZ. The base version is equipped with a gasoline engine, while the mid-range and high-end versions come with a mild hybrid system. The technical specifications have not been released yet, but Suzuki has stated that the new 1.2L 3-cylinder Z12E engine will be fuel-efficient and provide high torque at low revs.

All versions of the 2024 Suzuki Swift in Japan come standard with the new CVT automatic transmission, which is said to be lighter, smoother, and more efficient than the previous version. Power is transmitted to the front wheels or all four wheels through the optional full-time 4WD system.

The price of the 2024 Suzuki Swift is yet to be announced.
