Unexpectedly, a deposit has been posted by a sales consultant at Lexus in Hanoi for the new generation Lexus LM 500h.
However, detailed information regarding the car’s price, delivery time, and specifications have not yet been revealed. Lexus Vietnam has yet to officially confirm this report.
The Lexus LM 2024 was initially unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2023 and has since been released in various Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Brunei. Therefore, it is not surprising to expect the arrival of the Lexus LM 2024 in Vietnam soon.
The Lexus LM is built on Toyota’s TNGA platform, boasting dimensions of 5,125 x 1,890 x 1,955 mm and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the car is longer by 85 mm, wider by 40 mm, and taller by 10 mm while maintaining the same wheelbase.
As for the exterior, the Lexus LM charms with its imposing large signature spindle grille, which extends down to the front bumper and features a new mesh design similar to that of the Lexus RX 2023.
A slim air vent has been added above the grille, situated between the headlights. The headlights themselves have also undergone a redesign. The headlight cluster, equipped with 3 LED bulbs, retains its sharp design but now comes with two LED daytime running lights in the shape of the letter “L,” as opposed to the single light present in the previous generation.
In addition, the Lexus logo has been shifted from inside the grille to the hood. The front bumper features additional vertically arranged air vents adorned with stylish silver accents.
The vehicle is equipped with 17-19-inch wheels, depending on the variant, and features power-sliding doors, a feature inherited from its predecessor.
At the rear, the Lexus LM showcases striking new LED taillights that span across the width of the car, boasting a concave design. Moreover, a slim light strip, potentially housing the brake light, can be found in the middle of the rear door, accompanied by the raised Lexus logo.
The latest generation of the Lexus LM is equipped with modern convenience technologies designed to enhance the overall in-car experience. One of the most notable changes is the redesigned seating, which envelopes occupants more snugly to provide premium comfort and safety.
Lexus offers customers three seating options: 4, 6, and 7 seats. Among them, the 4-seat version stands out as the most luxurious, boasting remarkable features such as a partition between the front and rear seats, a 48-inch widescreen monitor, a refrigerator, dedicated storage compartments, and more. Additionally, the Lexus LM includes an advanced heating and cooling system capable of regulating the HVAC system based on the passengers’ facial, chest, and thigh temperatures, ensuring optimum cooling or heating.
The Lexus LM 2024 also offers a range of other convenient features, including a digital dashboard linked to a 14-inch touchscreen, a premium Mark Levinson sound system, wireless phone charging, USB Type C ports, a 64-color ambient lighting system with 14 themes, an electronic parking brake, a temporary automatic brake hold feature, and more. The car’s ceiling houses a wood-trimmed control cluster containing various car controls and air vents, flanked by sunroof windows on both sides.
Regarding powertrain options, the car is available in two versions: the 350h and the 500h.
The 500h version combines a 2.4L turbocharged engine (268 horsepower, 460 Nm) with two electric motors, resulting in a total output of up to 349 horsepower. The power is transmitted via an 8-speed Direct Shift transmission. Presently, dealers are accepting deposits for this particular version.
On the other hand, the Lexus LM 350h will continue to be equipped with a 2.5L gasoline engine and electric motor, similar to its predecessor.
In terms of safety, the car is equipped with various driver assistance features included in the Lexus Safety System+ package, such as forward collision warning, pre-collision braking assist, adaptive cruise control with radar, and more. It even possesses a system to monitor the driver’s posture, wherein if the system detects that the driver is unable to continue driving, the vehicle will automatically activate the warning lights and gently reduce its speed.
At present, in the Vietnamese market, Lexus continues to offer two previous iterations, a 7-seat and 4-seat version, with prices starting at VND 7.21 billion and VND 8.61 billion, respectively.
