The Lexus RZ is designed on the e-TNGA platform, similar to the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Soltera, but with a more premium appearance and equipment.
According to Industrial Property Gazette No. 430 of January 2024, Toyota has successfully registered the industrial design for the RZ model in Vietnam. The manufacturer has not yet made any announcements about whether this luxury SUV will be introduced in the country, but this is a strong indication that the Lexus RZ will soon be available in Vietnam.
Lexus RZ is built on the e-TNGA platform, similar to the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Soltera. However, Lexus states that this model will have a different design and possess more premium features and equipment.
The front of Lexus RZ impresses with its familiar grille and sleek silhouette. The surface of the grille is smooth, while the sides have beautiful grooves that highlight the sleek design that Lexus has followed for a long time. Symmetrical on both sides are sharp, sophisticated headlights combined with a slightly raised hood, adding a touch of elegance and personality to the appearance of the RZ.
Additionally, the front of the car features air vents on both corners, a wide center air intake, and a diffuser under the front bumper. These details make the overall “face” of the Lexus RZ more powerful.
Looking at the side of the car, the Lexus RZ has a curved roofline and a raised roof design with black pillars. The car is adorned with bold-cut lines and a black wheel arch cover. The RZ is also equipped with large multi-spoke wheels that enhance stability.
At the rear, Lexus RZ retains the familiar crossover design used in the RX product line. Other notable details include two small air vents located symmetrically on the roof, a large air vent in the center, a sleek taillight strip that extends across the width of the rear, a black rear bumper, and a similarly shaped air intake as the front of the car.
Inside the cabin, Lexus RZ is designed with a minimalist yet luxurious theme called “Tazuna.” The car is equipped with a digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch center touch screen, a shift knob, power-adjustable doors and windows, and a panoramic moonroof with anti-glare function. The round steering wheel is a standard feature, but users can also choose a rectangular steering wheel similar to Tesla.
Furthermore, the car is equipped with electronic steering assist. According to the Japanese automaker, this technology reduces the workload for the driver, allowing them to steer the wheel without having to manually turn it at intersections, U-turns, or when parking.
As a luxury segment vehicle, it is understandable that the Lexus RZ possesses advanced and modern technologies. The car features the Lexus Safety System+ package, including active steering assist, early collision avoidance, all-speed cruise control, lane departure warning, low-speed automatic acceleration, remote parking, and driver distraction alert.
Providing power to the Lexus RZ are two electric motors integrated in the front and rear axle, generating a total output of 308 horsepower and a maximum torque of 435 Nm. It is accompanied by a 71.4 kWh battery pack, providing a range of 310 km on a full charge. With fast charging, the time to fully charge the battery stops at around 28 minutes.
