Maserati will introduce 4 new electric car models by 2028. In addition, the company plans to upgrade the Modena factory to support the electrification transition process.

Maserati has announced a plan for the launch of new electric car models, following rumors that the brand is facing challenges in the electrification process.

According to the latest plan of the automaker, all Maserati models will be “designed, developed, and produced 100% in Italy.” The company said Maserati is “writing the future of luxury mobility with an ambitious strategy” by developing a comprehensive product plan focusing on electrification, reflecting customers’ desires.

Maserati believes in the future of electrification in the automotive industry and plans to launch multiple new electric cars, in addition to the current two models Grecale Folgore and GranTurismo Folgore sold in Europe. As part of this effort, a new all-electric coupe called GranCabrio Folgore will be unveiled by the Italian automaker later this year.

In addition, Maserati has revealed that the MC20 Folgore will debut in 2025, while an E-segment electric crossover will appear in 2027. Afterward, the all-electric version of the Quattroporte is planned to be introduced in 2028.

The Modena factory of Maserati is expected to receive a significant investment to increase capacity for electric vehicle production. It will also be the location for the Maserati Fuoriserie personalization program, allowing customers to create their own unique, luxurious, and exclusive car.

Maserati further stated that it is the only luxury brand of Stellantis and is “establishing a strong business model, aiming for the electric future to enhance its leading position in the luxury segment by maintaining production volume and profitability in line with its unique brand positioning.”

To explain this plan in more detail, Maserati CEO Davide Grasso said, “We are making every effort to lead the electrification change, with two of our iconic models already having all-electric versions and another model scheduled for launch this year. Maserati will bring customers the most luxurious and powerful electric cars, pushing the boundaries of driving pleasure into a new era.”
