The new generation Lexus LM comes to Vietnam is the LM 500h version while the GX model will be the GX 550.

According to some sources, Lexus will bring two new generation models LM and GX to Vietnam in April this year. The Lexus LM will be launched in March 2024 and will have cars in the second quarter of this year. This information comes from dealers, Lexus Vietnam has not confirmed this yet.

However, in late January, a sales consultant at Lexus in Hanoi unexpectedly posted a deposit for the new generation Lexus LM 500h model. Meanwhile, the Lexus GX 2024 model has been available for deposits from Vietnamese dealers since November 2023.

The Lexus LM 2024 was first introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2023. Then, the car continued to be introduced in many countries in the Southeast Asian region such as Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei… So, it’s not surprising that the Lexus LM 2024 will soon be available in Vietnam.

The Lexus LM is developed on the TNGA chassis of the parent company Toyota, the car has dimensions of 5.125 x 1.890 x 1.955 mm and a wheelbase of 3.000 mm. Compared to the previous generation, the car is 85 mm longer, 40 mm wider, 10 mm higher while the wheelbase remains the same.

In terms of design, the new generation Lexus LM still has the same appearance as the previous generation, however, some interior and exterior details have been changed. For example, the headlight cluster with 3 LED bulbs still has the same sharp design as before, but now comes with 2 LED strips for daytime running lights in the shape of the letter “L” instead of 1 like the previous generation. Meanwhile, the logo of the Lexus brand has been moved from inside the grille to the hood. There are additional vertically positioned air vents at the front corners, decorated with sturdy silver trim. At the rear, the Lexus LM 2024 has new LED taillights that run horizontally across the rear of the car and are designed to be recessed. In the middle of the tailgate, there is another thin strip of lights, which may be brake lights and a raised Lexus logo.

The car is equipped with wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches, depending on the version, and also has power-adjustable sliding doors like the predecessor.

In the cabin, the new generation Lexus LM has a new seat configuration with the front seats designed to hug the user, providing a more comfortable and safe feeling. According to shared information, the Lexus LM 2024 may have 2 seating options: 4 seats for business class and 6 seats.

In particular, the 4-seat version is the most luxurious type with notable features such as a partition between the front and rear seats, a 48-inch wide screen, a refrigerator, a special storage compartment… Moreover, the Lexus LM also has an advanced heating and cooling system that can measure the temperature of passengers on the face, chest, and thighs to control the HVAC to ensure balanced cooling/heating ability.

Some other notable features on the Lexus LM 2024 include a connected digital dashboard with a 14-inch touchscreen, premium Mark Levinson audio system, wireless phone charging, USB-C ports, 64-color ambient lighting system with 14 themes, electronic parking brake, and temporary brake holding feature. The headliner features a wood-trimmed control panel with some of the car’s features and air conditioning vents. The two control panels are also equipped with skylights.

The Lexus LM 500h 2024 is powered by a hybrid engine combining a 2.4L turbocharged petrol engine with 2 electric motors for a total output of 349 horsepower. The car is equipped with an 8-speed transmission.

The second Lexus model to come to Vietnam this year is the GX 550 2024 with equivalent equipment to the Luxury+ version in the US.

In the new generation, the Lexus GX is developed on the body-on-frame TNGA-F platform, similar to the Land Cruiser 300 and Lexus LX600.

The car has dimensions of 5.005 x 2.114 x 1.915 – 1.935 mm and a wheelbase of 2.850 mm. So, compared to the previous generation, the car is 125 mm longer, 229 mm wider, 30 – 50 mm higher, and the wheelbase has increased by 61 mm.

The new Lexus GX still has a square and angular shape but with a more masculine touch. However, some details on the car still have the typical design of the Lexus brand. For example, a large chrome grille in the shape of a long con, LED daytime running lights in the shape of the letter “L”. The hood is designed to be expanded, somewhat reminiscent of previous generation Range Rover models. The front bumper is painted body color and is like a protective plate, accompanied by LED fog lights.

At the rear, the Lexus GX 2024 has a minimalist design with the highlight being the horizontally running taillights, following the general style of the new Lexus models. The rear window can be opened independently, while the tailgate has switched to an electric lift structure instead of opening to both sides like the previous generation.

In the cabin, the Lexus GX 2024 is equipped with many premium utilities such as a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, and a heads-up display. Although it has a larger screen than the previous generation, the brand still keeps two rotary knobs for temperature and volume control, which is convenient. On the rear console, there are also buttons to control the auxiliary transmission and the differential lock.

The GX 2024 is powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine with an output of 349 horsepower and a torque of 650 Nm. The car has a fuel consumption of 23.52 liters/100 km.
