Recently, MarketWatch Guides conducted a study and identified the most searched car brand in the United States in 2023.

Many people believe that Tesla will be the most searched car brand in the US. However, the reality is Toyota. In 2023, Toyota sold a total of 11.23 million vehicles, an increase of 7.2% compared to 2022. In the US market alone, Toyota delivered 2.25 million vehicles.

For many years, Toyota has always been the best-selling car brand worldwide. The brand has a product range that covers all segments.

Although it is the most searched car brand in the US, Toyota is facing challenges from the electric vehicle market, especially with the Tesla Model Y becoming the best-selling car in the world in 2023. Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) account for less than 1% of Toyota’s total vehicle sales, indicating the need for strategic adjustments to adapt to the new trends in the automotive industry.

After Toyota, the second most searched car brand in the US is the electric giant, Tesla. However, the top 10 most searched electric car models in the US according to MarketWatch’s study are dominated by Tesla’s four popular models.

In the US, Tesla Model Y is also the best-selling model with 385,900 units sold, an increase of over 50.7% compared to 2022 and far surpassing the approximately 250,000 units in 2020.
