The BYD Yuan UP will be launched in March this year and will belong to the “Yuan” family line in the future, being sold through the Dynasty sales network and equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 130 kilowatts. Join us as we review the BYD Yuan UP 2024: the new compact SUV from the Chinese automaker that will soon produce electric cars in Vietnam.

Exterior Design

In terms of appearance, the new BYD Yuan UP compact SUV has a square shape with rounded edges, combining strength and softness. It not only maintains the aesthetic design of the dragon face dynasty but also incorporates many fashion and youthful elements.

Specifically, the BYD Yuan UP adopts a completely new design style, with black accents added to the closed front grille, a small stamped-style Yuan logo at the center, and slim elongated headlights on both sides, creating a sense of prominence for the hierarchical system. At the same time, its front bumper has a unique and easily recognizable shape.

Looking at the rear of the car, the new BYD Yuan UP compact SUV uses hidden door handles, and black panels and chrome details are added to the lower edges to enhance the off-road feel for the vehicle.

In terms of dimensions, the length, width, and height of the new BYD Yuan UP will be 4,310mm x 1,830mm x 1,675mm, and the wheelbase will be 2,620mm. With these measurements, the BYD Yuan UP is positioned as a compact SUV.

The BYD Yuan UP features a rounded and compact tail design, along with horizontally extended taillights, accentuating the cool and cute style of the vehicle.

Notably, the Yuan UP differs from the existing Dynasty models in that it uses the BYD logo instead of the small stamped-style font on the front. Additionally, it is painted in a light blue color, giving it a youthful overall look.

Interior

In terms of the interior, the new BYD Yuan UP compact SUV features a dual-tone black + beige interior color scheme, along with a panoramic sunroof that creates a more spacious and bright interior space.

Specifically, the interior still embodies the strong design language of the BYD family, with a combination of a large 12.8-inch central control screen + an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel that significantly enhances the technological feel of the car.

In addition, the new BYD Yuan UP compact SUV retains some physical buttons near the steering wheel and the multi-function gear lever, making it user-friendly for those who are not accustomed to touchscreen controls.

The front seats of the new car are power-adjustable, while the rear seats offer good space, and the flat rear floor ensures comfort for the passenger in the middle seat.

Finally, the new BYD Yuan UP compact SUV is equipped with USB ports and small storage compartments for the rear seats. The luggage space in the trunk of the BYD Yuan UP is also remarkable, reflecting its practicality. The rear seats are expected to have a 4/6 folding ratio.

Powertrain

As the first compact SUV from BYD to be equipped with the 3.0 electronic platform, it has driven the research and development of the entire model, especially in terms of space, energy consumption, and safety, providing an outstanding driving experience.

In terms of power, according to the previous declaration, the new BYD Yuan UP compact SUV uses the permanent magnet synchronous drive motor model TZ200XSW, with a maximum power of 130 kW, equivalent to 174 horsepower, which is sufficient for an electric vehicle.
