On the evening of January 25th, 2024, a stunning blue convertible supercar, the Ferrari 296 GTS, made a surprise appearance on the streets of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Originally parked at a nearby café near the city’s opera house, it later moved to Dong Khoi Street before finally stopping at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street for several hours.
This marks the second sighting of a Ferrari 296 GTS convertible in the Vietnamese market. The first car was delivered to a customer in Bac Lieu province, although the couple actually resides and works in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

According to preliminary reports, this second Ferrari 296 GTS convertible seen in Vietnam is owned by a wealthy individual residing in Ho Chi Minh City. However, the car is currently without an official license plate and is instead using a temporary one with the number T60-345.67.
Despite having a temporary license plate, the Ferrari 296 GTS convertible still proudly displays the number 34567, which is considered a lucky number. The car’s exterior is a striking blue color, with several details painted in black or carbon fiber. Additionally, the double-spoke wheels differ from those on the first car.

The Ferrari 296 GTS inherits the power of the Ferrari 296 GTB supercar, but with the added benefit of a convertible roof that can be effortlessly opened or closed in just 14 seconds. The process of opening/closing the roof of the Ferrari 296 GTS, which was first introduced in Ho Chi Minh City, is extremely convenient, as the Italian automaker has integrated a roof button on the central control panel, along with the appropriate small window up/down button.
The Ferrari 296 GTS convertible is equipped with a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 gasoline engine, delivering an impressive maximum power of 654 horsepower and a peak torque of 425 Nm. Additionally, an electric motor is installed between the internal combustion engine and the 8-speed transmission, providing the convertible version of the Ferrari 296 GTB with an additional maximum power of 164 horsepower and a peak torque of 315 Nm.
Thanks to its plug-in hybrid drivetrain, the Ferrari 296 GTS convertible boasts a total power output of 818 horsepower and a peak torque of 740 Nm. This powerful engine allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, before reaching an impressive top speed of 330 km/h. It is worth noting that the Ferrari 296 GTS is the first convertible supercar variant from Ferrari to feature a V6 engine.
