The Japanese automaker has officially launched the 9th generation Camry model in China. Toyota has confirmed it will introduce the Camry 2024 in the Southeast Asia region without any delay.

The midsize sedan will be introduced in Thailand in October this year, according to Headlightmag. After that, Toyota Camry 2024 will be introduced in Vietnam.

The 9th generation Toyota Camry is based on the TNGA platform but has been redeveloped to have a more youthful and refreshing appearance. The Toyota Camry 2024 design is divided into 2 styles – Sport and Luxury. The front area of the car distinctly differentiates these 2 versions.

The Sport version of the Toyota Camry 2024 is equipped with a large-sized honeycomb-shaped front grille, two vertically positioned black-colored air vents, and integrated round fog lights.

On the other hand, the Luxury version features a narrower grille with a chrome grille shaped like a fox eye, with the same color as the body, and narrower air vents at the corners of the car, compared to the Sport style.

On the side, there are noticeable crease lines extending from the front fender to the tail lights, along with a set of multi-spoke wheels with sizes ranging from 17 to 19 inches (depending on the version). The rear of the car features a newly designed taillight cluster in the shape of the letter “C”, which appears slimmer and smoother, complemented by a redesigned rear bumper.

Inside the cabin, the interior of the Toyota Camry 2024 has undergone significant upgrades compared to the previous generation. The car features a redesigned 7-inch digital instrument cluster, while the upright 8-inch infotainment screen is placed on the dashboard.

It comes with touch-sensitive buttons on the wood trim, a newly designed central control panel, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, keyless start, wireless phone charging, power-adjustable/heated/ventilated seats, a head-up display information display with augmented reality technology, Huawei HiCar, a panoramic 2-piece sunroof covering an area of 1.03 square meters, a 15W wireless phone charger, an 11-speaker audio system, and 64-color interior ambient lighting.

The Luxury version of Toyota Camry 2024 is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and center screen. Below the center screen, there is a touch surface integrated into the dashboard to control the air conditioning system.

What’s unique for the Camry 2024 in China is the operating system developed by Huawei, which enhances voice control feature through artificial intelligence. The car also supports various additional applications, such as WeChat, navigation, and software updates via Wi-Fi.

In the Chinese market, the powertrain options for the Toyota Camry 2024 include three engines. The first is a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a continuously variable transmission CVT.

The second option is a hybrid powertrain with a 2.0L gasoline engine, generating a maximum power of 197 horsepower and an average fuel consumption of only 4.2 liters per 100 kilometers. The third option is a hybrid powertrain with a 2.5L gasoline engine.

In terms of safety, the new generation Toyota Camry is equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 safety technology package across all versions. This system includes advanced features such as forward collision warning to detect vehicles and pedestrians, adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, road sign assist, automatic headlights, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
