The Century SUV convertible version is specially crafted to the request of a retired Sumo wrestler, serving the parade of the undefeatable in the future.

Recently, Toyota has revealed the Century SUV convertible version at the Grand Sumo Tournament in Japan. This special edition is developed according to the special request of a retired Sumo wrestler, aiming to serve as a parade vehicle for the future champions.

Appearing outside the Ryogoku Kokugikan arena in Tokyo last Saturday, the Century SUV convertible has its roof and pillars removed, creating a design that is both rugged and stylish. The car stands out with its pure white color, luxurious cream interior, and shining chrome multi-spoke wheels.

Toyota’s engineers have made significant improvements to this convertible SUV, not only in its exterior but also in its adaptability to the new role. The interior is spacious enough to accommodate two Sumo wrestlers, the body has been reinforced, and the suspension system has been enhanced to support additional weight. The rear cabin has been redesigned with a folding roof section that acts as a backrest for the rear seats. Meanwhile, the elevated rear floor provides a comfortable view for the champions facing the crowd.

The Century SUV convertible is equipped with a plug-in hybrid V6 3.5-liter powertrain with a total output of 406 horsepower. The power is transmitted to all four wheels through the e-CVT transmission and the intelligent E-Four Advanced AWD system.

The selling price of the Century SUV convertible version is currently unknown. In the Japanese market, the 2024 Toyota Century SUV starts at 25 million Yen (approximately 4.07 billion VND).
