On January 19, 2024, Toyota Vietnam officially announced the implementation of the Recall Program "Tightening the front shock absorber nut on Veloz, Avanza, Yaris Cross models" and the Customer Satisfaction Program "Replacing the dust cap of the front brake caliper slide on Veloz, Avanza, and imported Raize models."

The program will be officially implemented by Toyota Vietnam from January 19, 2024 at all Toyota dealerships nationwide. The list and number of affected vehicles in Vietnam are as follows:

1. “Tightening the front shock absorber bolts on the Veloz, Avanza, and Yaris Cross models” recall program

The front shock absorbers of the affected vehicles use bolts for installation. Due to design issues, the tightening force of the shock absorber bolts may be insufficient. During the use of the vehicles, the shock absorber bolts may become loose, causing abnormal noise. In the worst case, the shock absorber bolts may fall out, resulting in instability during vehicle use.

Customers with affected vehicles will receive notifications from Toyota dealerships to bring their vehicles for inspection. Based on the inspection results, the customer’s vehicle will undergo tightening of the shock absorber bolts. The estimated inspection and repair/replacement time is approximately 0.5 to 2.5 hours per vehicle.

2. “Replacement of front lower arm dust boot on the Veloz, Avanza, and Raize imported models” customer satisfaction program

The front lower arm is equipped with a dust boot to prevent dust and water from entering. During the assembly of the front lower arm, the assembly tools may come into contact with the dust boot, causing damage to the boot. If water enters the dust boot and causes leakage, the brake rotor may corrode prematurely.

Customers with affected vehicles will receive notifications from Toyota dealerships to bring their vehicles for inspection. Based on the inspection results, the customer’s vehicle will undergo replacement of the front lower arm dust boot/front lower arm assembly. The estimated inspection and repair/replacement time is approximately 1.3 to 2.4 hours per vehicle.

Toyota Vietnam advises customers who own vehicles affected by these two programs to promptly bring their vehicles to Toyota dealerships nationwide for free inspection and replacement.

For non-genuine Toyota imported vehicles affected by these two programs, upon receiving requests from vehicle owners, TMV will verify the detailed information. After the issue is confirmed and approved, the Toyota dealership will perform free inspection and replacement for the customer.
