A special edition for the Year of the Wood Dragon 2024 will be produced in limited quantities globally. The highlight of the Vespa 946 Dragon is the handmade emerald green dragon pattern.
Commemorating the Year of the Wood Dragon 2024 and the 11th anniversary of the Vespa 946 series, Piaggio Group introduced a special edition called Vespa 946 Dragon, which is produced in limited quantities of 1888 units. Specifically, this version is inspired by the design of the Dragon – the mythological Eastern symbol of the year 2024.
The first impressive feature of Vespa 946 Dragon is the luxurious golden “dress” with a contrasting emerald green dragon pattern, appearing from the front to the rear of the scooter. It is known that this “dress” of Vespa 946 Dragon is entirely handcrafted in Italy.

On the right side of the Vespa 946 Dragon’s body, there are 4 sets of numbers 12, 00, 88, and 76 written in a font style similar to varsity jackets of American sports teams. These four numbers respectively represent the previous Thìn years: Nhâm Thìn 2012, Canh Thìn 2000, Mậu Thìn 1988, and Bính Thìn 1976.
Vespa 946 Dragon still uses the 3V ie engine family for its four-stroke engine instead of the newer iGet, with a displacement of 125 or 150cc depending on each market. Compared to other small frame Vespa models with shared engines, Vespa 946 Dragon stands out when it is equipped with 2-channel ABS and traction control system.
In addition, Piaggio Group also launched the exclusive Dragon Varsity jacket with the same emerald green dragon pattern, with a body made of woven wool fabric and leather sleeves. Additionally, there are Year of the Wood Dragon themed accessories such as helmets, rear storage bags, etc.
Vespa 946 Dragon will officially be launched at an event held in Hong Kong on January 24th. It is expected that the model will be available in the Vietnamese market in early April 2024.
