The new generation Kia Sportage’s design has been inspired by the latest Sorento and Carnival models.
The current version of Kia Sportage has been on the market since 2021, and 2024 is the ideal time for a mid-life upgrade. The facelifted Kia Sportage test version has appeared at the Hyundai – Kia Testing Center in South Korea, but in a heavily disguised camouflage. Therefore, it is difficult for car enthusiasts to recognize the design changes of the Kia Sportage 2025. Currently, the Korean automaker has not revealed any information about the new generation of this SUV model.
However, recently, the NYMammoth Youtube channel has released a video predicting the design of the Kia Sportage 2025. The clip shows that the “look” of the new generation Kia Sportage has been inspired by the latest Sorento and Carnival. For now, they have only outlined the front three quarters of the car with a similar front face to the two aforementioned models. It should also be noted that this is only the prediction of the NYMammoth Youtube channel.
Inside the cabin, the 2025 Kia Sportage is expected to be equipped with a large curved screen similar to the Sorento and Carnival. Modern safety, convenience, and connectivity technologies will also be added. A steering wheel similar to the EV9 may be another change.
In terms of powertrain, there are no major changes expected for the Kia Sportage 2025. But it is certain that the dual-clutch transmission will disappear, leaving the field entirely to the 8-speed automatic transmission. The remaining changes are likely to revolve around comprehensiveizing the existing options. The fuel efficiency of regular versions may increase, and the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version may have a slightly larger battery to supplement the fuel-free operation range.
According to the plan, the new generation of the Kia Sportage will be launched in South Korea at the end of 2024.
