Xiaomi Auto has officially announced the interior design inspiration and related design details of the Xiaomi SU7 sedan model.
According to Carnewchina, the interior design of the Xiaomi SU7 features a curved shape, with the human being at the center. A crucial source of inspiration for the interior design of this electric sedan is the interaction between humans and the technological features inside the car, while ensuring aesthetics and ease of use.
Xiaomi Auto applies a curved design style inside the cabin to ensure that all functions and conveniences are positioned in the most convenient and comfortable locations for the driver. This creates a sense of expanded space for the users.
The cockpit area of the Xiaomi SU7 features a “technology-driven axis” design, meaning that the driver’s seating position, steering wheel axis, information display, and HUD display on the windshield are all aligned on the same straight line. This design places the driver at the center, ensuring that eye movements and driving operations align with intuition and body habits.
Xiaomi Auto believes that physical buttons are the most natural means for humans to interact with machines and also serve as a means to connect emotions between users and the car. After research, Xiaomi Auto has designed 4 physical buttons for adjustment: air conditioning, air volume, rear vents, and air suspension system.
Being the “darling” of Xiaomi – the world’s famous smartphone manufacturer, it is not surprising that the SU7 is equipped with a range of advanced technologies including LiDAR sensor, 11 HD cameras, 3 mm-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, supporting autonomous driving and parking. It is scheduled that in 2024, Xiaomi plans to test the autonomous driving capability in urban areas for the SU7.
SU7 is a mid-size sedan with dimensions of length x width x height of 4,997 x 1,963 x 1,440/1,455 m respectively, along with a wheelbase of 3 m. These dimensions are largely larger than Elon Musk’s Tesla Model 3.
Introduced since December 28, 2023, SU7 shares many similarities with major car brands such as Porsche, McLaren, Aston Martin, and Lamborghini. According to Xiaomi, the SU7 has a wind resistance coefficient of Cd 0.195 – the lowest among the cars produced worldwide.
According to the plan, Xiaomi SU7 will appear at the Beijing Auto Show in the upcoming April. The expected price of this sedan model starts from $42,500 (~1.035 billion VND).
