At the recent Chicago Auto Show 2024 in the US, Ford showcased and introduced an upgraded version of its Explorer SUV during its lifecycle for the Vietnamese market in the future.
During the exhibition, Ford displayed two versions of the Explorer 2025, the ST and Platinum. The variant planned to be sold in Vietnam is expected to be the Platinum edition.

Inside the car, the Ford Explorer 2025 features a completely redesigned dashboard. The dashboard has been pushed forward to provide more space for the front seat passengers. The center dashboard now houses a new 12.3-inch floating touchscreen display, along with a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The center touchscreen display is compatible with the new Ford Digital Experience infotainment system powered by Google. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity and voice control through Google Assistant or built-in Alexa. Passengers can watch videos or play games on the infotainment screen. The instrument cluster now has the ability to display maps.
In addition, there are two wireless phone chargers on the center control panel, eight USB Type C ports, and three 12V power outlets. The interior materials have also been improved.

The advanced Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ driver assist package has been enhanced with additional features. Notably, this large SUV now comes with BlueCruise, which enables hands-free driving on highways.
Under the hood, the US-spec Ford Explorer 2025 offers two gasoline engine options. The first is the 2.3L 4-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine used in the Active, ST-Line, and Platinum variants. This engine produces a maximum power of 300 horsepower and a peak torque of 420 Nm, similar to before.
For the top-of-the-line ST variant, it is equipped with a 3.0L V6 EcoBoost gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 400 horsepower and a peak torque of 563 Nm. Unlike before, the V6 engine is now an optional feature instead of being standard in the Platinum variant.
Both EcoBoost engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The ST variant additionally comes with sport paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The SUV also offers standard rear-wheel drive and optional four-wheel drive.
Unfortunately, the hybrid variant of the Ford Explorer 2025 has been dropped. According to Mike Levine, Ford North America’s Communications Manager, the decision was made to provide a more affordable option for customers and to reduce production time.
