As planned, Hyundai will introduce several affordable electric car models this year. Among them, there will be a new electric model called Hyundai Casper EV. This is a completely new electric version of the small urban SUV model Casper.
It is expected that this model will have a selling price of $21,500 (approximately 525 million VND). This price is considered quite competitive compared to Chinese electric car models.
The Hyundai Casper EV will be assembled on the same production line as the gasoline version in Gwangju, South Korea. The car will use LFP batteries, similar to Chinese electric cars, to provide a range of about 300 km per charge. The chassis of this version may use the Hyundai-Kia SA platform, similar to the Kia Ray EV, instead of the original Casper’s K1 platform.
It is not clear how the Hyundai Casper EV will differ in size, but the difference in chassis may result in slight variations in the dimensions of the two versions. Currently, the gasoline version of the Hyundai Casper has dimensions of 3,595 x 1,595 x 1,575 mm (length x width x height) with a wheelbase of 2,400 mm.
The car will be equipped with many convenience features and modern technologies, such as a multimedia entertainment system, automatic parking assist, and advanced safety features. The premium versions of the Hyundai Casper may also be equipped with voice recognition and smartphone connectivity.
