Just about a week after its launch in Australia, the recently facelifted Toyota Hilux pickup truck has officially arrived in Southeast Asia.
The vehicle will be available in 3 variants: E, G, and V, with prices ranging from 442.2 – 526.55 million Rupiah (approximately 685 – 816 million VND).
Overall, the exterior of the Toyota Hilux facelift in Southeast Asia is not much different from the version designed for the Australian market.
The front of the vehicle impresses with a new hexagonal grille accompanied by honeycomb air intakes and a sportier front bumper. The truck has a silver underbody cladding that gives it a more rugged and contemporary look.
The body of the truck remains the same as the previous version, but the cargo bed is equipped with additional dampers. The rear of the vehicle retains the same design as before, with the addition of a system that makes opening and closing the tailgate easier.
In terms of interior, the truck still boasts a range of amenities similar to the version launched in Australia. These include: leather-wrapped interior, 4-way adjustable steering wheel, analog instrument cluster with multifunction display, 7-inch touchscreen center display, mechanical key, etc.
In addition, the truck is also equipped with several safety driving aids such as: airbags, vehicle stability control, traction control, ABS+EBD, hill assist,… which are still retained.
Unlike the Hilux for the Australian market, which is equipped with a 2.8L diesel engine with mild-hybrid 48V technology (1GD-FTV), the version for the Indonesian market still uses a smaller 2GD-FTV diesel engine with a maximum power of 150 horsepower and a peak torque of 400Nm. In addition, the truck is also equipped with 4-wheel drive and a rear differential lock, but it does not have the Multi-Terrain Select system.
After Indonesia, it is possible that this pickup truck model will continue to arrive in Vietnam. However, users will have to wait until March 2024, when the Bangkok International Auto Show 2024 takes place, to know for sure whether Toyota will introduce the hybrid Hilux in Vietnam or not.
