Previously known as the AM-RB 003, the Aston Martin Valhalla is built as a scaled-down version of the Valkyrie supercar (AM-RB 001), unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2019 to the speed enthusiasts. At this time, the British automaker is planning to produce only 500 limited units with a starting price of 1 million USD.
In September 2023, Aston Martin announced that this sports car had entered the testing phase. Recently, the company also released the first images of the Aston Martin Valhalla on the Silverstone race track, showing that the car has been modified compared to the version introduced to customers and the media.
The modern design elements of this model are still preserved. However, the LED headlights have been redesigned with a similar structure to the recently launched grand tourer DB12. In addition, some horizontal chrome bars in the grille have been removed, and the engineers have also added smaller auxiliary air vents to optimize the aerodynamics of the car. The front bumper has also been shortened.
Meanwhile, the side of the car has also been refined with rear wheel arches, lower body, rear intake doors… The car also uses lightweight Polycarbonate glass windows, eliminating the electric window mechanism. The large 6-spoke wheels on the launch version have also been replaced with smaller ones. The air intake on the bonnet remains the same, optimizing the air supply and cooling for the engine compartment.
According to actual images, the Aston Martin Valhalla will have a large active aerodynamic wing at the rear of the car. This detail functions as a DRS wing of the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 team’s cars, capable of generating up to 600 kg of downforce at a speed of 240 km/h.
The Aston Martin Valhalla is equipped with a mid-mounted twin-turbo 4.0L V8 engine, combined with 2 electric motors at the front axle and 1 integrated electric motor into the gearbox. This hybrid configuration allows the car to achieve a power output of up to 1,012 horsepower. The electric motor system will handle the reverse gear shifting, simplifying the structure of the gearbox, as well as providing energy recovery and efficiency.
Aston Martin will produce a limited edition of 999 Valhalla units with an undisclosed price. This model will be the basis for the British automaker to develop pure electric models, which are expected to be introduced as early as 2025. According to some sources, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, the owner of the largest Aston Martin collection in Vietnam, intends to add this model to his collection.
