In February 2024, the Chery Omoda E5 was officially launched in the Southeast Asian market. Indonesia was also the first market in the world to receive this Chinese electric car.

In the Indonesian market, the Chery Omoda E5 has a starting price of 498.8 million Rupiah (about 778 million dong). However, the first 1,000 customers to order will be eligible for a special price of 488.8 million Rupiah (762 million dong). In addition, the first 1,000 owners will also receive a lifetime warranty for the battery and electric motor components.

Positioned in the B-segment electric SUV, the Chery Omoda E5 is the pure electric version of the Omoda 5. This model has dimensions of 4,400 x 1,830 x 1,590 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,630 mm. Compared to the regular gasoline version, the Chery Omoda E5 maintains almost the same size.

Not only the size but the overall design of the Chery Omoda E5 also does not change much compared to the gasoline version. The car only has some changes in the exterior details such as a closed grille, a wider central air intake, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, and the disappearance of the exhaust pipe at the back to suit the electric car. According to Chery, this electric car has a drag coefficient of only 0.281 Cd.

Similar to the exterior, the interior of the Chery Omoda E5 has also been slightly changed compared to the Omoda 5. Inside the car, there is an electronic gear lever on the new steering wheel. In the central control cluster, the car does not have a gear lever or a rotary knob to adjust the infotainment screen like the gasoline version. Instead, there is only a row of buttons here, giving a neat feeling to the interior.

The interior of the car is covered in contrasting two-tone leather, with silver-colored wood and metal trim, creating a luxurious feeling. The front seats have a sporty design while the rear seats have room for 3 people and come with air conditioning vents.

In addition, there is a 61 kWh battery, providing a range of 430 km after a full charge according to the WLTP test cycle.
