If the rain is heavy enough, the weight of the raindrops will pull the water away from the windshield, providing clear visibility for the driver. If the rain is light and the car is moving fast, the raindrops will be blown away by the wind. This improves visibility for drivers when driving in the rain.
Under dry conditions, the water repellent coating creates a foggy layer on the windshield.
The disadvantage of this product is that after using it on glass surfaces, it creates a foggy layer that reduces the driver’s visibility. Especially when driving at night, the light from street lamps and other cars will cause glare and make it difficult to see. In addition, the duration of the water repellent effect of this coating is quite short. If the car is not equipped with windshield wipers, the coating will last for about 2 hours in heavy rain. If the driver uses the wipers, the water repellent effect will diminish after about 10 wipes.
Therefore, our recommendation after testing this cheap water repellent coating on the market is that drivers can use it for better visibility during rain, but immediately clean the coating after the rain to ensure the best visibility.
