Despite a slight improvement in overall market sales in the latest reporting period, many automakers continue to offer various discounts to car buyers. Among them, the C-segment sedans quickly increased their pace in the race for discounts to close out the month of December.

Mazda3 discounted, Kia K3 offers big promotions to clear inventory

The two popular names in the segment, Mazda3 and Kia K3, are currently being heavily promoted by Thaco to stimulate consumer demand for the upcoming holidays. Recently, the official website for the Vietnamese market has adjusted the selling prices for most of their passenger car models. In particular, the Mazda3 sedan is enjoying discounts of up to 30 million VND.

Specifically, the price of the Mazda3 Sport Luxury variant has been adjusted from 649 million VND to 639 million VND, equivalent to a discount of 10 million VND. Meanwhile, the Premium version is now priced at 679 million VND, 30 million VND lower than the original price.

In addition to the manufacturer’s official adjustments, many Mazda dealerships in the area have also announced their own discount programs for the Mazda3, ranging from 10 to 20 million VND, to attract customers during the year-end season. When contacting a Mazda dealership in Go Vap, the sales staff there mentioned that customers who place orders for the Mazda3 and make the payment before December 30 will still be eligible for a 50% discount on registration fees and receive genuine accessories as well.

Meanwhile, many Kia dealerships have applied deep discounts on remaining inventory of 2022 model year K3s. Speaking to Tri Thuc – Znews, a Kia sales consultant revealed that there are still a few white K3 manual transmission models available in stock, and these will be heavily discounted for customers who place early orders in December.

“The K3 manual transmission 2022 model is being heavily discounted because there are only a few units left in our inventory, and we want to clear them out before 2024. Currently, the dealership only has white manual transmission models, and there are less than 5 units left due to the high demand from previous customers,” the sales consultant said.

Specifically, the Kia K3 manual transmission 2022 model is currently priced at around 470 million VND. Compared to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (549 million VND), this is nearly 80 million VND lower. According to a survey by a reporter, another dealership in Phu Yen province is selling the 2022 model year K3 with manual transmission for only 468 million VND.

Hyundai Elantra discounted up to 70 million VND

When contacting a Hyundai dealership in Ho Chi Minh City, the sales staff revealed that the Hyundai Elantra C-segment sedan, in the Standard variant with the 2022 model year VIN, is currently being heavily discounted to only 542 million VND, a nearly 70 million VND discount compared to the suggested retail price.

However, this is only a special program offered by some dealerships for the remaining 2022 model year Elantras, mostly available in white and black colors. For the 2023 model year Elantras with VIN, the sales staff confirmed that customers who purchase before December 31 will still receive an additional discount of 15 to 20 million VND and genuine accessories as well.

In addition to the dealership’s discount program, customers who purchase the Elantra will also benefit from the government’s policy of a 50% reduction in registration fees, applicable until the end of December 2023.

“Currently, we only have 2 units of the 2022 Elantra left in stock, so customers who are not particularly concerned about the model year can place their orders quickly to take advantage of the good discounts. The cars are available in our warehouse, so customers can still enjoy the registration fee discount,” the sales staff confirmed.

With a series of major promotions being applied, the prices of these C-segment sedans will be equal to or even lower than some of the B-segment sedans currently being distributed in the market, such as the Hyundai Accent (542 million VND) or the Toyota Vios (479 million VND).

According to the latest report from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) and TC Group, the sales of the entire C-segment sedan group have experienced positive growth in the past 3 months.

As of the end of November of this year, the segment sold a total of 22,289 vehicles. With many attractive promotions, it is expected that the number of vehicles sold in the last month of the year will increase significantly, bringing the total sales volume of the segment to over 25,000 vehicles.
