Ferrari Daytona SP3: A Superb Masterpiece, Owning a Matching License Plate is Not Guaranteed Even with Money

A tycoon has registered the license plate SP3 for his million-dollar supercar, the Ferrari Daytona SP3, to make it more eye-catching. The price of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 is $2.3 million, but not everyone can afford it, as the company handpicks its buyers.

Ferrari always has an interesting way of selling supercars. They choose exclusive solutions by limiting the number of produced cars, even for a commercial model. With special editions like the Ferrari Daytona SP3, customers cannot simply bring their money to the showroom or accept a higher price from the manufacturer. Instead, there is a dedicated unit that sends 599 keys to customers, and of course, no one is foolish enough to send them back to the manufacturer.

There have been many Ferrari Daytona SP3s appearing on the streets in colors like yellow, red, purple, blue, and white, but gray is quite rare. And it gets even more special when the license plate reads SP3, matching the name of this Ferrari Daytona SP3.

Unlike many limited editions of Ferrari before, the Daytona SP3 is a 2-in-1 supercar, meaning it is both a Coupe and a convertible. If customers remove the car’s roof, this is a design that has never been seen on a limited edition version of Ferrari, similar to what Porsche did with the 918 Spyder.

Ferrari only produces a limited number of 599 Daytona SP3s worldwide. Among them, 499 customers who buy the Ferrari Monza are given exclusive invitations, and these collectors certainly cannot refuse. The remaining 100 units are reserved for famous Ferrari collectors worldwide. The design of the Daytona SP3 is handled by Flavio Manzoni and the team, drawing inspiration from the rounded shape of the P3/4, P330, or 412P that dominated the Daytona race in the 1960s.

At the front of the Daytona SP3, Ferrari equips it with an impressive air splitter and front spoiler reminiscent of the 1967 330 P4 but has been refined with a lower nose and wider fenders. The complex LED headlights have a pop-up mechanism and an openable shield with horizontal ventilation ducts. Like the LaFerrari, SP3 uses butterfly doors with impressive air outlets, and a domed windshield design.

The rear of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 impresses with a design similar to a concept car, with horizontal LED taillights integrated with the rear spoiler. The spoiler can open or close depending on the speed, and below it are carbon fiber diffuser elements. The high-placed trapezoidal exhaust pipes provide an aggressive sound characteristic of the V12 engine. In addition, the car comes with 5-spoke wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires developed specifically for the Daytona SP3.

The million-dollar Ferrari Daytona SP3 is equipped with a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, pumping out a maximum power of 829 horsepower and a peak torque of 697 Nm. The power is transmitted to the rear-wheel-drive and an 8-speed dual-clutch F1 gearbox with the support of a limited-slip differential. Thanks to this, the latest hypercar from Ferrari can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.85 seconds.
