Previously, the upgraded version of the Kia Carnival was introduced to the home market of South Korea since the end of 2023. The car has received updates from the inside out. Starting from the outside, the MPV model now applies the new Opposites United design language that “combines elegance and strength like an SUV.”

The notable changes are mainly concentrated in the front of the car where the Carnival has a larger grille and a modified front bumper. They are combined with new headlights, which have a vertical design as well as “Star Map” daytime running lights.

Move to the rear, the 2024 Carnival’s rear end is smoother as there are no longer door handles to open the trunk. Another change that we can notice is that the position of the Kia logo has been moved lower, no longer playing a role in dividing the LED strip. The reflector mounted on the rear bumper seems to be slimmer than before.

Customers who want a more unique car can choose the new Gravity package (or version) with dark accents and exclusive 19-inch black wheels.

The changes continue to appear inside the cabin where we can see a slightly revised dashboard and a floating panoramic screen. This curved screen is a combination of the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the 12.3-inch infotainment system. In addition, the center control cluster has also been modified.

Kia notes that the 2024 Carnival has an improved interior ambient lighting system, fingerprint recognition technology, and UV-C sterilization box on the center console. Other highlights include an 11-inch HUD, Ergo Motion seats, and a modernized infotainment system with over-the-air updates support.

In terms of technology, this MPV model offers various driver assistance systems including Front Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Collision Avoidance Assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2. It is also equipped with Automatic Headlights, Safe Exit Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance.

Under the hood is the new 1.6L turbocharged hybrid powertrain, delivering a combined output of 242 horsepower and a maximum torque of 367 Nm.

Customers can also choose the familiar 2.2L diesel engine and the 3.5L V6 gasoline engine. Other announced changes include improved suspension for a smoother ride and additional sound insulation materials for a quieter cabin.

In the South Korean market, the 2024 Kia Carnival starts at 34.7 million won (26,601 USD).
