On February 15, 2024, VinFast introduced for the first time its range of reverse steering electric vehicles at the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS).
At the event, Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited and signed on the display model VF 5 at VinFast’s booth. The official launch in Indonesia marks the next step in VinFast’s global expansion plan, reaffirming its strong commitment to promoting sustainable transportation in the archipelago and worldwide.

At IIMS 2024, VinFast showcased the VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 models, spanning from A-SUV to E-SUV segments. With the theme “Unleashing Green Life,” VinFast aims to bring more sustainable mobility options and inspire Indonesian consumers to explore the limitless potential of modern life and a green future.

Indonesia is the first country where VinFast introduces the “reverse steering” product, demonstrating its research capabilities and determination to develop electric vehicles for everyone. The VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, and VF 7, ranging from A to C segments, are expected to be the first models to be launched in the market. VinFast’s products feature modern, youthful designs and advanced technologies to meet the diverse needs of various customer groups.

In addition, VinFast is committed to continuous innovation to provide flexible sales and outstanding after-sales policies, making it easier for people to access intelligent electric vehicles.
Regarding charging infrastructure, VinFast will collaborate with local suppliers in Indonesia to develop a wide network of charging stations nationwide, providing convenient experiences for Indonesian customers and contributing to green transportation in the market.

As part of its long-term development strategy in Indonesia, VinFast will establish a production facility with a capacity of up to 50,000 electric vehicles per year. With the goal of achieving up to 40% localization rate, the VinFast factory project is expected to create thousands of job opportunities and drive the local electric vehicle industry. When put into production, Indonesia will also be a key link in VinFast’s global electric vehicle supply chain.
