Ford Pro has unveiled a more rugged variant of its pickup truck model in Europe, called the MS-RT, which has been upgraded in terms of appearance and chassis. The Ranger MS-RT features a sporty bodykit, 21-inch wheels, upgraded suspension, and a 3.0L V6 diesel engine. The standout feature of the car is the widened front and rear mudguards, which add an additional 82 mm on each side, furthermore, the mudguards also have additional ventilation holes.

The car is equipped with new 21-inch wheels wrapped in small-size off-road tires (275/45R21). At the front, the honeycomb grille complements the sportier air intake above the splitter grille. At the rear, the ducktail spoiler accentuates the rear door, accompanied by a cabin spoiler and diffuser. Although these features may seem purely aesthetic, the car manufacturer claims that the combination of the wind deflectors contributes to overall aerodynamic balance, improving stability at high speeds.

In addition to the new footwear, which is “the largest wheels ever offered on a Ford Ranger”, the MS-RT also benefits from a modified chassis setup. The track width has been increased by an additional 40 mm on each side, while the suspension has been lowered by 40 mm. Ford says the addition of stiffer front dampers and revised rear suspension has given the Ranger MS-RT “more precise and stable handling through corners”.

Under the hood is the familiar 3.0L V6 turbodiesel engine producing 237 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, similar to the Wildtrak and Platinum versions. The power is transmitted to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic gearbox with the assistance of a full-time 4-wheel drive system. Like other models in the Ranger family, the MS-RT can carry a payload of up to 1,000 kg and has a towing capacity of 3,500 kg.

The interior of the car is equipped with a pair of leather and suede bioplastic seats. The MS-RT logo and blue stitching, standard equipment includes a 12-inch infotainment screen, dual-zone climate control, parking sensors, rearview camera, and ADAS such as Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control.

The new version of the pickup truck is developed by MS-RT, a branch of M-Sport, Ford’s long-standing racing partner. The goal is to bring a sporty look and enhance the driving experience without compromising the truck’s cargo capacity. Final assembly and finishing take place at a dedicated facility at Ford Dagenham Estate in the UK.

Ford Ranger MS-RT is now available for order across Europe, with the first deliveries expected in mid-2024. Ford Pro has also introduced the MS-RT version of the E-Transit Custom van, which has similar upgrades and even more power.
