Tank 300 will be one of the next models brought by Great Wall Motor to “battle” in the Vietnamese market. This model stands out with an off-road SUV style, completely different from other competitors in the market.
After launching the Haval H6 HEV, Great Wall Motor – the parent company of the Haval brand will continue to expand its product range in the Vietnamese market by introducing two new models, Tank 300 and Jolion. This is information confirmed by Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, General Director of Haval Vietnam, in an interview on February 10. Of note is the information about Tank 300, as this is the first time this model has been revealed to compete in the Vietnamese market.
Tank 300 belongs to the SUV/CUV C-segment with a length of 4,760 mm, width of 1,930 mm, height of 1,903 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Especially, this SUV model can perform well on various terrains thanks to its ground clearance of up to 225 mm and a maximum wading depth of 700 mm.
The GWM Tank 300 features an off-road SUV style with a square-shaped design, high ground clearance, and wide mudguards. The design of this SUV model is reminiscent of the Ford Bronco, especially the front end with a high and straight grille and round headlights with a classic touch. At the rear, the Tank 300 is equipped with vertically arranged taillights and a spare tire on the tailgate. The tailgate opens horizontally, similar to the design on the Jeep Wrangler.
Meanwhile, the interior of the Tank 300 is quite similar to the Mercedes-AMG G 63. The car is equipped with a 12.3-inch central screen and instrument cluster display. The sound system includes 8 Infinity speakers and 1 subwoofer. Other notable features include paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, electronic parking brake, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, air filtration system, and interior ambient lighting. The seats are leather-upholstered, with power-adjustable, memory, cooling, and massage functions.
The safety features of the Tank 300 include 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, intelligent parking assist, automatic reverse assist, intelligent cruise control, intelligent lane change assist, front and rear emergency braking, collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and tire pressure monitoring system.
In terms of performance and equipment, the GWM Tank 300 uses a hybrid powertrain with a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine combined with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 304 horsepower and a maximum torque of 640 Nm. The power is transmitted to the wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Currently, there is no information about the price of the GWM Tank 300 when it enters the Vietnamese market. Referring to the prices in Thailand, the GWM Tank 300 is distributed in 2 versions: Pro and Ultra, with prices of 1,649 and 1,799 million baht respectively (equivalent to 1,116-1,218 million VND). For comparison, the Haval H6 is priced at 1,149 – 1,249 million baht (about 824 – 895 million VND) in Thailand, while it is 1,096 billion VND in Vietnam.
