According to the information provided, Chinese carmaker Great Wall Motor (GWM) will introduce 2 new car models in the Vietnamese market this year, namely Haval Jolion and Tank 300. This information was revealed by Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, General Director of Haval Vietnam, in a recent interview with Tuoi Tre newspaper.
Shortly after that, dealers in Vietnam started accepting deposits for Haval Jolion. This is a B+ size SUV that will compete with rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda HR-V, and Toyota Corolla Cross in the Vietnamese market.
Compared to the B-segment SUVs currently available in Vietnam, Haval Jolion is significantly larger in size. Specifically, this model has dimensions of 4,472 x 1,841 x 1,574 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Therefore, this will be the largest B-segment SUV in Vietnam, surpassing even the Toyota Corolla Cross.

In addition to its large size, Haval Jolion also has another highlight, which is its hybrid engine. This will be the next B-segment SUV in Vietnam to use a hybrid engine, following the Toyota Yaris Cross, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Nissan Kicks.
Specifically, the Haval Jolion uses a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine, an electric motor, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This powertrain produces a maximum power of 190 horsepower and a peak torque of 375 Nm. The average fuel consumption of the car is 23.8 km/liter (about 4.2 liters/100 km).
Haval Jolion is a hybrid car
It is currently unclear which version of Haval Jolion will be brought to Vietnam. In the Thai market, this model is available in 2 versions: Sport and Ultra. Both versions use hybrid engines, but their exterior designs are not exactly the same. The Sport version has some different exterior details compared to the Ultra version, such as the grille, front headlights, alloy wheels, and front/rear bumpers.

Regardless of the version, Haval Jolion is equipped with features such as automatic on/off LED headlights, LED taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen display, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, 4 USB ports (front/rear), a gear shift knob, a 6-speaker audio system, smart key and push-button start.

However, the standard version of the car will have more basic safety features, including 4 airbags, cruise control, electronic parking brake, temporary auto hold function, reverse camera, hill start assist, hill descent control, tire pressure monitoring, driver distraction warning, and automatic emergency braking.
Meanwhile, the Ultra version adds modern safety features such as adaptive cruise control, emergency brake assist, forward collision warning, lane change assist, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, cross-traffic alert, rear collision warning, 360-degree camera system, 6 front parking sensors, and 6 rear parking sensors.
The selling price of Haval Jolion in Vietnam is still unknown. In Thailand, the car has a price range of 799,000 – 999,000 Baht (about 543 – 679 million VND).
Haval Jolion in Vietnam is expected to be imported directly from Thailand, just like its sibling H6. With the addition of a hybrid engine, this car is likely to have a price similar to that of Haval H6.
