The Suzuki Jimny 5-door is distributed in Indonesia in 4 versions, with prices ranging from approximately 720 – 746 million VND.
Suzuki Jimny 5-door was officially launched in Indonesia at the IIMS 2024 exhibition (taking place from February 15th to 25th, 2024 in the capital Jakarta). As predicted, this SUV quickly attracted the attention of customers in the archipelago. As of February 18th, Suzuki Indonesia announced that they have received up to 1,200 orders for the Jimny 5-door.
However, it’s important to note that Suzuki had already accepted deposits for the Jimny 5-door prior to the opening of the IIMS 2024, so the number mentioned above does not accurately reflect the actual customer demand in the past 3 days.
According to Mr. Harold Donnell, Marketing Director of Suzuki Indonesia, the customers who pre-ordered the Jimny 5-door are quite diverse. However, the majority of them are previous Suzuki customers who have owned the 3-door version of the Jimny. Furthermore, this leader also stated that most customers choose to purchase the highest trim level with a two-tone exterior paint job.
Indonesia is the second Southeast Asian market to offer the Suzuki Jimny 5-door, following the Philippines. In this market, the Suzuki Jimny 5-door comes in 4 versions with prices ranging from 462 – 478.6 million Rupiah (approximately 720 – 746 million VND). Meanwhile, in Vietnam, the 3-door Suzuki Jimny is expected to have a starting price of 789 million VND.
The 5-door Suzuki Jimny is significantly larger in size compared to the 3-door version. The dimensions of the car are 3,985 x 1,645 x 1,720 mm (length x width x height) with a wheelbase of 2,590 mm. Apart from the differences in size and door configuration, the design of the 5-door and 3-door Jimny remains similar.
In the high-end trim level, this SUV is equipped with circular LED headlights that feature automatic high/low beam adjustment. On the other hand, the standard GL version only has Halogen headlights.
In terms of interior, the cabin of the Jimny 5-door is no different from the 3-door version. The car still has 4 seats and a luggage space of 208 liters, which can be expanded to 332 liters when the rear seats are folded.
The car is equipped with basic amenities such as: steering wheel with volume control buttons, analog instrument cluster integrated with a small multi-information display in a classic design, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, and a 4-speaker sound system.
Customers who purchase the high-end GLX version will be additionally equipped with leather seats, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic air conditioning, and automatic folding rearview mirrors.
In terms of safety features, the car is equipped with a range of driver assistance systems such as: 2 airbags (GLX version will have 6 airbags), ABS anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability control, hill start assist, rearview camera, and rear parking sensors.
Powering the Suzuki Jimny 5-door is a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters, producing a maximum power of 105 horsepower and a peak torque of 136 Nm. This engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, along with a 4WD AllGrip Pro system. The car’s drivetrain has 3 modes: 2H (2WD High), 4H (4WD High), and 4L (4WD Low).
The Suzuki Jimny 5-door is distributed in Indonesia with a limited quantity of about 200 cars per month. Thus, in order to fulfill all the orders received in the past few days, it will take more than 6 months for the company to deliver the cars.
