Pagani Utopia: The Successor to the Huayra Hypercar

The Pagani Utopia, a limited edition hypercar, has recently been unveiled in Singapore during an exclusive event for VIP customers. This global debut of the Utopia took place on September 12th and Pagani positions it as the successor to the legendary “Wind God” Huayra.

The name Utopia is derived from the title of a famous philosophical book by Thomas More, published in 1516, which describes an imaginary ideal society. In Vietnamese, Utopia means “heaven on earth.”

Pagani Utopia is designed based on three main principles: simplicity, lightness, and driving pleasure. These criteria were determined by Pagani after consulting with numerous loyal customers.

The exhibited Pagani Utopia in Singapore features a Crystal Clear Carbon body. In terms of design, Utopia embraces a minimalist aesthetic. The aerodynamic elements are delicately designed to retain the impressive contours on the body. One of the highlights of Utopia is its unique butterfly doors, which can detach from the car body and then pivot upwards along the main axis, resembling a hinge.

The rear of the car exudes a vintage feel while maintaining a sporty appearance. The standout feature is the gigantic elliptical-shaped spoiler. The taillights draw inspiration from aircraft turbine blades.

Pagani Utopia is equipped with special APP brand wheels with aerodynamic grooves, measuring 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear. The standard equipment includes Brembo brakes with 6 pistons at the front and 4 pistons at the rear. The carbon-ceramic brake discs have a diameter of 410mm (front) and 390mm (rear).

The Utopia’s body frame is made of composite material, reducing the assembly parts by 20%. The monocoque chassis is constructed from Pagani’s exclusive Carbo-Titanium HP62 G2 and Carbo-TriaxHP62. The subframe is crafted from CrMo alloy. The combination of lightweight materials helps Utopia achieve a dry weight of approximately 1,280kg, 70kg lighter than the Huayra.

The cabin of Pagani Utopia is designed in a vintage style, featuring a series of buttons and chrome-plated analog dials. The central screen has been stripped away. Utopia only has a single screen between the mechanical speedometer and the tachometer. The high-performance sports seats are crafted in a 1960s style. The initials of Horacio Pagani – the founder of Pagani – are embroidered on the headrests.

To achieve the “driving pleasure” desired by speed enthusiasts, Utopia is equipped with a V12 engine similar to the one in the Huayra. Specifically, it uses a twin-turbocharged 6.0L V12 engine, producing a maximum power output of 852 horsepower and a peak torque of 1,100Nm. Compared to the Huayra, the Utopia offers an additional 132 horsepower. The engine is paired with a 7-speed manual or a 7-speed sequential gearbox.

Pagani Utopia will be produced in a limited edition of 99 cars, all of which have already found owners even before their production. Each car is priced at approximately $2.5 million (~ VND 57.5 billion), almost double the price of the Huayra at $1.3 million (~ VND 29.9 billion).
