In March 2024, Ford will introduce two new models in the Vietnamese market, including the Everest Platinum and Ranger Stormtrak. Both are new premium versions of the Ford Everest and Ranger models in Vietnam. Similarly to the Everest Platinum, the Ford Ranger Stormtrak may also serve as a replacement for the highest-end Wildtrak variant.
Currently, sales consultants at the Vietnamese dealership have started accepting deposits for the Ford Ranger Stormtrak. The price for this variant in Vietnam has not been announced yet but it may be higher than the Ford Ranger Wildtrak (979 million VND).
The Ford Ranger Stormtrak was first unveiled in the Thai market in March 2023 at the Bangkok International Auto Show. Compared to other variants of the Ford Ranger, the Stormtrak version has added several new features, such as a roof rack and a movable sports bar that can be adjusted to 5 positions on the cargo bed. Ford stated that users can adjust the sports bar with just one hand. These features, which are not available on other pickup truck models, have a maximum load capacity of 80 kg while the vehicle is in motion or 250 kg when parked.

In addition, the Stormtrak version also comes with new glossy black details such as a wider honeycomb grille, raised “Ranger” lettering on the hood, and 20-inch alloy wheels. There are also orange accents including the border around the center air intake and the wheel nuts.

Other distinguishing features of this version include the “Stormtrak” logo on the tailgate and the new black accent on the side of the vehicle. Meanwhile, the Ford logo has been changed from the usual blue color to black.
Similar to the exterior, the interior of the Ford Ranger Stormtrak also receives some improvements. The vehicle has orange accents inside such as the trim on the seats, the “Stormtrak” logo on the front seats and the dashboard. The stitching on the seats, dashboard, door trim, steering wheel, and gear lever is also orange.

Other notable features of the Stormtrak version include auto-dimming rearview mirrors with integrated USB ports, interior lighting system, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, 4 USB ports, 6-speaker audio system, 12V and 230V (400W) power outlets, electronic parking brake, and electronic gear selector.
The safety features of the Ford Ranger Stormtrak are not different from the Wildtrak variant, including 7 airbags, front/rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, emergency brake assist, forward collision warning, post-collision braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse collision prevention, evasive steering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic parking assist.
The engine of the Ford Ranger Stormtrak remains a 4-cylinder, twin-turbo, 2.0L diesel engine similar to the Wildtrak variant, producing a maximum power of 210 horsepower and a peak torque of 500 Nm. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and is available in 2WD or 4WD drivetrain.
In the Thai market, the Ford Ranger Stormtrak is currently priced between 1,264 and 1,399 Baht (approximately 859 – 951 million VND). The vehicle is available in 4 colors: black, white, orange, and gray.
