At the Shanghai Auto Exhibition 2023, luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled its first-ever electric luxury SUV, called the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680. This is the next move to expand the German automaker’s electric vehicle lineup, as well as the Mercedes-Maybach luxury SUV lineup.

And now, the distributor of the Mercedes-Benz brand in Vietnam has confirmed that the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 will be launched in the country later this year.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 to be launched in Vietnam: A luxury all-electric SUV capable of driving 600 km on a full charge

The accelerated launch of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 in the Vietnamese market indicates a significant demand from domestic billionaires for the world’s first luxury all-electric SUV. Previously, the Mercedes-Maybach models sold well in Vietnam.

EQS 680 will be the 3rd Mercedes-Maybach luxury SUV officially distributed in the Vietnamese market, following the GLS480 and GLS600. Interestingly, unlike the previous two models, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 features a purely electric motor.

Specifically, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 uses an electric motor that generates a maximum output of 649 horsepower and 950 Nm of torque. This power allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. For the Chinese market, the all-electric SUV is slightly less powerful at 630 horsepower. It is worth noting that the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 can travel up to 600 km on a full charge.

Compared to the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 features a more upscale exterior design. This is reflected in the fully enclosed grille with vertical chrome slats, unique two-tone paintwork, and numerous chrome accents to emphasize luxury. It also comes with special 22-inch wheels, Maybach logo on the C-pillar, and faux air vents on the front bumper.

The essence of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 lies in the cabin, where the brand’s 3-pointed star logo is incorporated into the Chauffeur Package technology. This allows the front seats to automatically move forward before the rear seats recline. The seats are equipped with features such as ventilation, massage, and neck/shoulder heating, all wrapped in environmentally friendly leather.

Other features include the Burmester 4D 15-speaker sound system, standard Air Balance fragrance, cup holders that can heat beverages, square-shaped LED lights integrated on the C-pillar, and 253 LED lights. Rear passengers can enjoy entertainment through the 11.6-inch screens mounted on the back of the front seats. The driver’s area features three large Hyperscreen displays to serve the standard MBUX infotainment system.
